Summer's End

I woke up this morning wondering where the summer had gone. How in the world is it August already?? Did I sleep through a month or something? Well, come to think of it, that nasty virus a few weeks ago did eat up several weeks, but still. It hit me, with my usual irrational back-to-school panic, that the boys go back to school two weeks from today. Meet your teacher night is the Friday before that. Gack!

My sentimental wondering about how fast the summer has flown by has eroded after a day of constant bickering, too much yelling (them, not me so much this time), whining, tattling (oh, the tattling, make it stop, please, I beg of you, duct tape is looking mighty appealing, the tattling), grocery shopping with three children who didn’t want to be grocery shopping, fussing, griping, me telling them repeatedly to turn off the TV, and so much more.

Two weeks may just feel like an entire summer.

And this post probably tells more on me than it does on the kids...

My attitude today was not really what it should have been, either, if I'm really honest.
