Happy Thanksgiving!

"Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever." - Psalm 118:1

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:6-7

"Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!" 2 Corinthians 9:15

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." - John 3:16

Today our country pauses for a holiday called Thanksgiving. For some the thanks is kind of ambiguous - thankful for family, thankful for food, thankful for a lot of good things, but thankful to whom?

On this day when our country pauses to 'give thanks' let us remember the One to whom our thanks is due! Jesus is Lord.

"He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or kingdoms or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence." - Colossians 1:15-18
